Macassar veneer - perfect for the upmarket interior design
The sapwood and heartwood are well separated. The sapwood is very broad, unusable, grey-white to light brown. The heartwood is black and nicely marked by reddish brown stripes, making it very decorative. The growth zones are well visible. The wood is very heavy and of fine structure. The pores are filled with a dark resin gum. The wood is weather resistant.
