Oak rift veneer

Oak rift veneer - perfect for the upmarket interior design

Eiche Rift
Oak rift

The sapwood and heartwood are sharply separated. The sapwood is generally narrow and yellowish white. The heartwood is greyish yellow when fresh, later darkening from light to dark brown when exposed to air. The pores form an uninterrupted transverse zone in the early wood of the annual ring. Medullary rays broad and very clearly visible. The structure varies depending on location and age, usually straight to twisted, the texture also varies from fine-grained to coarse.

Rift or half rift is a special sawing process used to produce a certain quality of boards that are subject to special requirements. With rift boards, the annual rings run almost at right angles (60-90°) to the board surface. This achieves a high dimensional stability, i.e. the board does not bend.
