Wenge Rift veneer - ideal for upmarket interiors
One of the few dark brown veneer types that are very popular in upmarket interior design. Wenge impresses with its timeless, simple elegance. The wenge veneer is easy to work with. The sapwood and heartwood are very distinct. The sapwood is almost white, while the heartwood is golden brown to dark brown with black, partly yellowish or reddish brown veins. The wood is very decorative. When freshly cut, Wenge is yellowish and turns to dark brown and black when exposed to air. The structure is coarse and straight grained, interlocked growth occurs. Growth zones are clearly visible in different ways. The wood is very heavy, little shrinking, very compression and tensile resistant.
