Smoked oak veneer with moon ring - perfect for the upmarket interior design
Appearance like oak. The so-called smoking of woods rich in tannin, e.g. oak, acacia, by exposure to ammonia (NH3) causes a staining of the surface after a short exposure and even a through-colouring of the woods after a longer period of time. In contrast to wenge and many other natural or coloured woods, the veneer colour is absolutely stable to ageing and light. Particularly attractive veneer patterns can be achieved with veneers with sapwood or moon rings, as these areas are not coloured due to the absence of tannins in this area and thus remain light. The wood is also "plasticised" by the smoking process, i.e. it becomes more elastic, less brittle and thus easier to work and process.
The wood colour is generally darker than the basic shade of the wood type and ranges from honey brown to deep black.
