The Amara veneer / ebony veneer, decorative and noble is the alternative to the real Makassar veneer. It is very popular in the production of high-quality furniture, as it is one of the hardest types of wood in the world. The wood is dark brown to black and sometimes regularly, sometimes irregularly interspersed with reddish stripes.
